Retreats

The Jesuit Retreat House has two types of silent retreats; preached and directed. Preached retreats include weekend retreats, 12-Step retreats, couples' retreats, a women's Advent retreat, and a men's holy week retreat. Directed retreats take place between May and September.

Use the following information to find out basic information about the different kinds of retreats. If you have questions about a retreat you may contact the retreat coordinator listed in the schedule for more information.

Weekend Retreats (Preached)

• Conferences each day are based on the dynamics of Ignatian spirituality.
• The weekend includes daily Mass, periods for private reflection and devotions, spiritual direction, and reconciliation and healing services.
• Silence is maintained between individuals so that each retreatant has time and space to connect deeply with God.
• Types of retreats included in this category are Men's Weekends, Women's Weekends, Men's Holy Week, Women's Advent, Men & Women's Weekends, and Priests retreats.

Couples' Weekend Retreats (Preached)

• Conferences each day are based on the dynamics of Ignatian spirituality; there are fewer conferences offered during a couples' retreat than during a regular weekend retreat.
• Time between conferences is to be used by each couple to discuss and pray together about what was brought up in conferences.
• Silence is maintained between the participating couples so that each couple has time and space to connect deeply with God and with each other.
• The weekend includes daily Mass, periods for private reflection and devotions, spiritual direction, healing services, and "date" activities to encourage couples to connect with each other.

12-Step Recovery Weekend Retreats (Preached)

• Conferences are grounded in the 12-Steps.
• The weekend includes the various activities listed above in the Weekend Retreats section and an opportunity for a 12-Step meeting.

Summer Directed Retreats (Directed)

• Each retreatant meets daily with an assigned personal spiritual director.
• 5-day and 8-day directed retreats are available.
• There is a $35 fee for a massage during the summer directed retreats.

If you have to cancel your reservation for a retreat, please let the office know as soon as possible. This enables us to contact those on our waiting list.
